The Pope's Bean but originally from Peru. Has a rich chestnut flavour with a buttery texture and is great in stews, chillis and casseroles. Prefers warmer conditions than other beans and will perform poorly if sown too early in the season. Harvest when beans are plump and bulge inside the pod.
