Chinese stem lettuce primarily grown for its thick crisp stem and used sliced in stir fries, salads, soups and pickles with the leaves being an added bonus. Harvest when the stem thickens and reaches a length of 20cm. The stems have a mild to slightly bitter taste much like their leafy lettuce cousins.
Matures 90 days from transplant.
