Description

In the first year, many leaves are produced, flat on the ground, but in the second year, a stem rises and bears large delicately fragrant clear yellow flowers, which usually open during early evening, hence the name Evening Primrose.Evening Primrose is recommended for many medical and physical problems. The roots can be eaten and oil can be extracted from the seeds. Cold stratify by putting seed in a plastic bag with only slightly dampened (not soggy) peat sand, pumice or mixture of these, then seal and store in refrigerator (not freezer) for 2 months to break the seed's dormancy before sowing in spring.

Maturity 120 days from transplant.
