Description
The word Lunaria is derived from the Latin luna meaning moon, an apt description for this old-fashioned beauty grown for its translucent leaf-like seeds underneath a removable skin making it a great dried flower. With either white or purple flowers, this is an excellent plant for shady moist areas and tolerant of a range of soil types. Being biennial its best sown in autumn for a spring flowering but can be sown anytime from spring until autumn.
