bokashi-compost-zing
Bokashi Compost Zing

Turning kitchen scraps into something useful for the garden usually takes months of patient composting, but Compost Zing speeds that process up considerably. This unique New Zealand made product is created to transform food waste into an organic, nutrient-rich soil conditioner in as little as four weeks, using plant by-products and beneficial microbes to reduce composting processing time by up to 50 percent.

Rather than composting through slow decomposition alone, Compost Zing works through fermentation. When integrated into the Zing Bokashi Compost-Zing System, it catalyses the fermentation of organic matter, breaking food waste down quickly and creating a nutrient-rich compost that enriches soil and boosts plant growth once it is dug in or added to the garden.

Because fermentation works differently to traditional composting, it also opens the door to composting things a standard heap cannot handle well, when used as part of the full Bokashi system, including cooked food and small amounts of meat, fish and dairy. For households wanting to keep more waste out of landfill and turn it into something the garden can actually use, Compost Zing is the active ingredient that makes the whole system work.

Using Compost Zing

Sprinkle over each fresh layer of food waste in your Bokashi bucket, following the rate on the packaging, before sealing the bucket to ferment. Once fermentation is complete, dig the resulting pre-compost into garden soil or add it to your regular compost heap to finish breaking down.
