Congratulations to the winners and finalists in this year's Photo Competition!

We received some wonderful photos this year - thanks so much to everyone who took the trouble to send us their photographs - we won't show them all in this blog post, but you can have a look at all the photographs in Gallery section of our website.  You will also see them and other customer photos in the new Kings Seeds catalogue, which is out this week!

MargaretWinning photo - Borage Flower smWe would like to offer our congratulations to Natasha Bartley, who is the overall competition winner - her gorgeous photo of a Borage flower has been chosen for the cover of this year's catalogue.  What a lovely photo, Natasha.  With a focus on bee and butterfly plants this year, we are delighted to use this photo on our cover.

And congratulations also to Margaret from Dunedin who was the winner of last year's colouring competition - her winning entry is on the back cover of the new catalogue - it is lovely, Margaret!

We thought we would show you a small selection of the photos from this year's finalists:

tomatoes

This photo of tomatoes is much admired by the Kings Seeds staff and is on the cover of the 2012 Commercial Catalogue - congratulations to Valerie Edwards!

vegetable montage

These photographs were finalists in our Vegetable section.  The beans were photographed by Kathy Reid, the selection of tomatoes is from Hayley Smith and the cape gooseberry is from Joan Bunton.

Some of the other photographs we enjoyed seeing were Graeme McIntosh's photo of the boys and their pumpkins, and also Janny Bougher's pumpkin photo.  It's great to see your pumpkin crops!

Chalongkhwan Schnieder sent us some beautiful photos and this sunflower image has such wonderful colours.

And Gina Scott's photo of her garden is an inspiration to us to look forward to this year's growing season.

montagecalendulaFinally we thought we would leave you with these great images.

On the left is Stephanie Hartwick's photo of colourful calendulas and on the right is pictured Jim Bazsika's Kings Seeds seed box (we love it!), Dana Hall's photograph of her tall sunflower (and enthusiastic garden assistant on the ladder), and finally Margaret Anderson's photo of Jonah and his giant broccoli.

Again, congratulations to all our finalists and thanks to everyone who sent in photos.  We hope you enjoy seeing them in the catalogue and that you enjoy browsing through it over the next few days!
