Best wishes for the Festive season

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?

Our plan is to close at midday on Friday 20th December
and we will return on Monday 6th January 2020.

We will be taking a well-earned break to spend time with family and friends.  Our gardens may get some attention too and some of us are hoping to put up the hammock and read a good book.

Still got some gifts to buy?

Check out some of the following options and order as soon as you can to ensure delivery in time for Christmas (we will be processing last orders for 2019 that have been placed by 8:30am on 20th December).  For timely delivery at this time of the year, we recommend you choose the courier option (for a wee bit more).

Important moments this year!

Brian blog-957

We have two new permanent staff members this year.

Meet Brian........he joined us in July as a full-time member of the Production Team.  He is fitting in well, giving us a bit of cheek if we get too bossy so we keep him busy dragging sacks about, packing up the heaviest boxes and selling gift packs to all our customers who visit on a Friday.

Janet blog-171

Meet Janet........she started part-time with us in June and ended up working full-time during our busiest months of spring sales.  Being thrown in the deep end and surviving the experience of our busy season with great humour and diligence, we are very glad she decided to become a permanent member of the Admin team on a part-time basis.

This is the 250th blog since we started writing blogs back in 2012 and the last one for 2019.  The business of importing and selling seed gives us a wide range of subjects to choose from for our blogs and newsletters.  We work hard to find topics that interest you (our readers) and the fact that our readership is increasing indicates our efforts are worth it.  Our blogs can be read via our website (where you can sign up to receive automatically each time we post one) or on our facebook page and we also provide links in our newsletters.

Winner 2019Winner of $2000 draw
For the past 3 years we have run a lucky draw for all orders made during our busy season.  After the last order has been processed on October 31st, we randomly choose a winner and they receive a $2000 prize.  That is a pretty decent prize that gains a lot of interest and is made up of vouchers to that value for whatever the winner would like - travel, petrol, supermarket, etc.  This years winner was Christine Gibb from Paeroa who is a very keen gardener.  The team here at Kings Seeds enjoy the process of randomly drawing the winner and the seeing the reaction from the winner when advised.  Christine is pictured on the right, receiving her prize from Barbara Martin of Kings Seeds.

Improvements in sending your order

We have been sending your orders in our own branded packaging this year.  Both the boxes and bags have our colour's and logo's so watch for them with your delivery.

As well as the new packaging we are saving ourselves a lot of writing by printing labels for all the packages being sent by courier.  With the large volume of parcels we send every day, this makes our processing faster and more accurate and we have noticed a decrease in problems with getting deliveries to you.

And lastly......

Some funny questions or references made by our customers this year.

We were asked for the "placenta pumpkin".  Its real name is Pumpkin Beretta Piacentina but we like the new version.

Another customer queried "Do you sell seeds or plants coz its not really obvious on your website?"  We reckon its all in the name!

Have a very merry christmas and happy new year with your family and friends.
See you in 2020.
