Tomato Purple Calabash
- Botanical Name: Lycopersicon esculentum
Perhaps the ugliest, most primitive looking tomato since first catalogued in the 17th century. It is also said to have a rich and complex spicy taste with a lingering wine flavor that is excellent in sauces and pasta. The heavy 180-200g fruit grow singly and are ribbed, bulbous, scarred, ruffled and dimpled with dark purple red skin and firm crimson flesh. Indeterminate. (75 days)
