- Botanical Name: Cynara cardunculus
Grown around the Mediterranean for its edible Celery-like stalks, but is mainly grown as a magnificent foliage plant, with Thistle-like blue or purple flowers that bloom in late summer. Very popular for flower arrangements and closely related to the Globe Artichoke.
