Amaranth Green & Red
- Botanical Name: Amaranthus tricolor
Chinese Spinach. The green leaves which are blotched with red have a flavour described as Spinach with a hint of bitter-sweet Horseradish and are eaten either as a pot herb, cooking only a few minutes, or can be steamed like Spinach. Sow direct in beds or rows and young leaves are ready for use when plants reach 20-25cm high. Repeat sowings every 2 weeks for a continuous supply. Heat resistant.
