Kale Red Russian

Ragged Jack Red Russian is a traditional variety that is now hard to find. These pretty, wavy-leaved plants are a lovely blue-green in warmer weather but, as the temperature drops, its stems and leafy veins turn a gorgeous red hue that lights up the entire garden. Red Russian is also succulent, tender and surprisingly sweet even in warmer winters. Versatile, nutritious, cold and heat tolerant we can see why this handsome and good tasting strain has been an American treasure for generations.
