- Botanical Name: Brassica oleracea acephala
Unique Kale used in traditional Portuguese soups with a taste and texture similar to Collard . Also known as Tronchuda or Portuguese Sea Kale. The thick fleshy midribs and stems can also be peeled like celery or included in the soup. The vigorous plants reach 60cm wide and high and should be grown like regular kale in spring or autumn.
