Broccoli Green Lance

• Botanical Name: Brassica oleracea alboglabra

Gai Lohn / Chinese Kale Green Lance is very easy to grow and matures fast if allowed to develop during cold weather. The stems are long in proportion, and do not form a head like other Broccoli, but have a main stem with a tender tasting tip. The flavour of Green Lance is best just before the flowers open. Cut the thick centre stem first so side shoots can develop, giving you a second and third harvest. Always leave a long stub on the plant when you cut it. (50 days)
