Rhubarb Victoria
- Botanical Name: Rheum rhabarbarum
Victoria is an excellent home garden variety with healthy, strong, upright growth. The high yield plants have broad, thick green shaded red stalks with a pleasing flavour. Plants regenerate quickly after cutting. The oxalic acid in rhubarb stems helps inhibit the enzymes that cause club root in brassica crops. Burying rhubarb leaves before you plant brassicas is a very old method of controlling club root. Transplant roots the second year to their permanent location approximately 1m apart.
Heirloom; 20-25 degrees; 21-28 days; 30cm apart; Hardy; 2.3; Transplant; 100 seeds; Gourmet.
