Radish Rat-tailed
- Botanical Name: Raphanus caudatus
An unusual and different annual vegetable producing edible seed pods which should be harvested when young and tender instead of the root. The pods, 18-30cm long and twisted at the end, look like rats tails. Fleshy and tender, violet green in colour with a pungent Radish-like flavour. Freely branched plants produce edible pods all summer and autumn till frosts. Cut down old stems to encourage new growth.
