Botanical Name: Vicia faba

Popular Italian Fava bean for simple yet gourmet cooking. The early and vigorous plants have 25cm pods each with 6-7 violet coloured seeds and pods that are bright green at maturity and are excellent sautéed with garlic. Broad Beans are like peas and prefer to grow in the cooler months of spring and autumn avoiding hot weather. Support to one metre may be required. Harvest 75 days from sowing. TREATED SEED.
