  • Botanical Name: Cuminum cyminum

Cumin seed is an important item in many international cuisines including Indian and Mexican. The flavour resembles Caraway but is hotter. Used in soups, cakes, breads and a standard ingredient of commercial curry powders. The plant has grass like leaves with small white flowers and requires a long warm growing season. Seed should be started indoors in cooler climates.
