Pea sprouts taste very much like fresh peas so can be eaten raw or lightly steamed and are useful in snacks, salads and stir fry cooking. Very nutritious containing Vitamins B1, B3, C and E, Folic Acid, Lysine and like other legumes has lots of soluble fibre, perfect for regulating cholesterol in the bloodstream. Clean sprouting using the jar method. Check for any discoloured peas. Soak for 4-6 hours first time then rinse 2-3 times daily. Harvest in 3 days when the sprout is the length of the seed. 4 seeds per gram - 1 gram of seed will produce 5g of sprouts.
