Calamint or Nepitella is a popular Italian herb added to mushroom dishes and green vegetables for its distinctive minty flavour. As with Oregano, it is more often used dried. It is a low growing, aromatic spreading mounded shrub with fragrant light blue flower spikes, very popular with bees. Ideal for herb gardens, rockeries or sprawled over low retaining walls.
