Asclepias Butterfly Flower

• Botanical Name: Asclepias curassavica

Highly ornamental and excellent in attracting the Monarch Butterfly to your garden. The umbel-shaped flower head makes an appealing cut flower with its colour range of Dark Pink, White, Gold, Orange and Red. The stems are rigid however the latex sap needs to be heat sealed in if you want to cut them. Dipping the cut end in very hot water for 30 seconds is enough to do it. A spring sowing should yield flowers the first season (220 days).
